My name is Char (they/them), and I am happy to announce that I will be conducting a five month internship at Platform BK from September 2024 to January 2025! I am conducting this internship as the final part of my MA studies Arts and Society at Utrecht University. Both in my MA studies and my previous BA studies (Language and Culture Studies) I have focussed on researching activism in art spaces and institutions. I am interested in highlighting activist practices, nuancing understandings of activism, researching its use in the cultural field, and working towards social change through practices of care and solidarity. With my internship at Platform BK I am hoping to gain a better understanding of the practical ways in which art workers and organisations can work with activist practices towards a stronger cultural field. I am excited to work together with Jeannette and Harriet in the upcoming period, and I look forward to learning new things whilst also supporting them in the ongoing projects of Platform BK.
